PechaKucha Pow Wow 2016
There is only one better way to bring a bunch of people together than a PechaKucha Night; it's bringing together a bunch of PechaKucha Nights!
That's exactly what we did earlier this year for our 2nd Annual PechaKucha Pow Wow, hosting 50 PKN City Organizers from 25 cities, far and wide, in the heart of Tokyo for an extended weekend of and workshops and discussion (and of course some Karaoke too.)
Here's some great shots from Pow Wow 2016, and learn more about the topics we covered by downloading our event report.
It all started with a soft landing of welcome drinks with a top-notch cityscape view!
Day 1 we were welcomed at the Brazilian Embassy, where City Organizers were able to meet and greet each other, as we heard about what makes each city's PKN unique.
Day 2 took us Ito Toyo's Juku, where we envisioned PechaKucha's collective future. We shared some laughs with guest presenter an PKN friend, Joseph Tame about Social Hacktivism. Late in the day, PKN Sana'a's Organizer, who had the most harrowing tale of traveling to the Pow Wow from war-torn Yemen, received a special message from Unicef confirming their special support of Sana'a's PKN series for another year!!!
Finally, we headed to the birthplace of PechaKucha, SuperDeluxe for an amazing night of 20x20 presentations by the organizers, highlighting each city's creativity.
Day 3 Recovery day
All in all, PechaKucha Pow Wow 2016 was a true meeting of the minds and a triumphant success! A HUGE thank you to all those who helped make it an unforgettable weekend!
